TV Lounge

By David Knox on April 23, 2007 / Filed Under News 85

Now due to popular demand I am adding a TV Lounge section to my blog.

This is basically an open forum for you to add comments or ask questions on topics that you can’t see anywhere else on the site.

So if there’s something you’ve been meaning to get off your chest, or there’s a question that doesn’t seem to fit anywhere else, or comments on the site…. here is where it goes!

Comments policy: Keep it nice people. There’s nothing worse than a site where people anonymously sledge off others. I’m moderating the site still so comments may not appear immediately. If you cross a line that is defamatory I may opt not to approve it. Know that I can only approve or reject comments, I can’t edit. Please also refrain from promoting websites that aren’t TV related and contain spoilers.

Other than that, pull up a beanbag, lay back and fire away!

This section will deleate earlier comments as a way of housekeeping.

Jeez I get asked some obscure stuff but honestly….

In 2006 it was scheduled from 7:30 – 10:30pm. No idea if it ran overtime.

How long will the Aria Awards 2007 show run for? 7pm to when? If you don’t know could you please tell me for how long the Aria Awards went for in 2006?

  3. David Knox October 4, 2007 at 6:29 pm -

Check 2008 Show Watch for acquisitions.

    Nine has Chuck.

Maybe summer for Veronica Mars, dunno.

    Pizza replaces Bro’Town.

  4. Anonymous October 4, 2007 at 6:11 pm -

Do you know if Chuck is going to screen in Aus, and when?

And also, VERONICA MARS! When is it coming back?

    Thanks.

  5. Anonymous October 1, 2007 at 11:24 pm -

What will replace Bro’town once it finishes it’s season on SBS?

  6. David Knox October 1, 2007 at 5:45 pm -

    Welcome….

Too soon to know what will replace K&K but I see National Bingo Night isn’t anywhere yet. Could finish out the last batch of the TV year?

TEN dropped Jericho BEFORE the show had been pulled and renewed in America. So I doubt they will be airing anything unless as summer filler.

  7. Neil October 1, 2007 at 5:00 pm -

hey David, good site uv got going here

any news on what will replace Kath & Kim once it finshes up? i know they’v got Earl fast-tracked, but thats at 8
also any news on Jericho? Ten never finished screening the show…considering it’s been picked up by CBS for midseason,it makes sense for it to at least screen on a Friday or Sat night
    thanks

  8. Anonymous September 27, 2007 at 12:36 am -

Okay, it ends October 20th according to Wikipedia. Thanks for the tip.

  9. David Knox September 27, 2007 at 12:34 am -

Not surprisingly there’s only so far in advance I can see. And until Tue that is the morning of Sun Oct 14 when the first semi final is on. Try to Google World Cup?

  10. Anonymous September 27, 2007 at 12:25 am -

How long until the 2007 Rugby World Cup Coverage ends on Network Ten?

  11. David Knox September 24, 2007 at 11:17 am -

Disney Channel just screened it this weekend on subscription TV so I would expect them to hoard it for a good 3 months. There are repeats over the next week if you can get to a friend with Foxtel.

Seven had the first one so there is a chance they may get to it by the last week of ratings?

  12. Anonymous September 24, 2007 at 10:48 am -

David do you know when (or generally when) High School Musical 2 will be shown on Free to air TV?

    Thanks!

  13. Anonymous September 11, 2007 at 8:14 pm -

Any idea when we will be seeing new Season 11 episodes of South Park on SBS?

  14. David Knox September 10, 2007 at 8:10 pm -

Soon they reckon. See new post added today.

  15. Anonymous September 10, 2007 at 8:57 am -

Dave… with Prison Break S3 premeiring in the US next week…how quick are we gonna see it as promised by 7… any news at all??

  16. David Knox September 7, 2007 at 3:55 am -

Ok I think we’re about done on that subject thanks people.

Also: Ronnie Johns is not back this year.

  17. Anonymous September 6, 2007 at 7:11 pm -

Looks like all the gays are out in force today and found your website dave.lol..and as for that rude comment discrimminating against me for being heterosexual, i porbably have more gay friends than you. Just some of you take alot to heart and get offended so easily about jokes. Why dont you lighten up and stop being so uptight!

  18. Anonymous September 6, 2007 at 3:01 am -

Hi David, is there any word whether Ronnie John’s Half Time Variety Hour show is returning?

  19. Anonymous September 5, 2007 at 11:42 pm -

Is anyone else sick of Angela Bishops reporting on Network 10′s news? She always seems to assume EVERYONE is heterosexual, stating that “every girl likes Zac Efron” as if it’s somehow absurd to believe gay men like Zac, or that some females may also be gay?

If only she’d hide the fact that she and her conservative mother politician share the exact same views.

Perhaps it’s not the best career choice for her to report SHOW-BUSINESS when many in show-business are quite gay, when she holds such conservative beliefs.

  20. Anonymous September 5, 2007 at 11:36 pm -

“Only an idiot would be offended by that! Get a life moron!!”

How easy for a heterosexual male to tell a gay person to “get over it”

Considering you’ve never been the victim of something, nor face discrimination still in the year 2007, I’d suggest you ridicule those fellow heterosexuals of yours who make life oh so difficult for everyone else, instead of heaping it on the victims.

  21. Anonymous September 2, 2007 at 7:23 pm -

Only an idiot would be offended by that! Get a life moron!!

  22. Anonymous August 31, 2007 at 1:21 am -

Was anyone else offended when on the NRL footy show, one of the hosts said to a footballer, “I hope you’re not gay.” They looked at each other after that rather awkwardly.

    Quite offensive.

Thanks for answering about the House question

  24. David Knox August 24, 2007 at 8:14 pm -

Ha thanks for the vote of confidence. Nice to be missed. Yes, there are a number of others around, although both AW and JOY were, until recently the only two having daily dedicated TV spots in Melb. Flip’s quite nice, only met her once. I’ll be looking at radio options again in October…. watch this space.

  25. TelevisionAU August 24, 2007 at 6:55 pm -

David please come back to the radio!! :) I’ve been listening to Flip Shelton’s podcasts from 3AW and she infuriates me.. her and Neil Mitchell talk about anything other than TV most of the time (today it was big macs and vegemite).. and Flip also doesn’t know her TV, for example she’s misquoted ratings figures and also doubted a talk-back caller about Thank God You’re Here when the caller was actually right. Come back soon if not on Joy maybe see if Neil Mitchell needs a decent TV correspondent :)

  26. David Knox August 24, 2007 at 6:33 pm -

    Just movies.

  27. Anonymous August 24, 2007 at 6:12 pm -

what’s replacing House until the new episodes return on TEN?

  28. David Knox August 23, 2007 at 1:34 am -

They are now. I usually add Guides Thursdays.

Also: No word on American Dad or Big Love season 2 yet.

SYTYCD moves to 7:30pm Thursdays on Ten.

  29. Anonymous August 22, 2007 at 10:54 pm -

are the Week 36 Guides (SBS) here? :P Thanks.

  30. Anonymous August 15, 2007 at 12:40 am -

    Hi David

Quick question, will SBS air season 2 of Big Love? I know its out in the US now. They better, what a great show.

  31. Anonymous August 14, 2007 at 10:17 pm -

Any word on when all new American Dad will be hitting Channel 7 screens?

  32. David Knox August 14, 2007 at 10:14 pm -

At this stage its still Idol finals.

  33. Anonymous August 14, 2007 at 10:10 pm -

So You Think You Can Dance has been confirmed for 8pm Thursday on the TEN website, what is going to be at 7:30pm? :)

  34. Anonymous August 14, 2007 at 10:06 pm -

    OK, thanks.

  39. TelevisionAU July 31, 2007 at 8:47 pm -

hey david how is Edinburgh? How about a ‘postcard from Edinburgh’ as the next post on TVtonight.com :) Also, please don’t give up your radio spot when you get back to Aus.. i’m finding there is nobody to listen to at 5.45 and i miss hearing the TV goss!! :)

  40. David Knox July 30, 2007 at 6:29 pm -

Yes, been on their case about it, but still no word. I suspect issues with Tuesday programming due to The Nation changed their plans.

There is a VERY slim possibility it may land in a TBA slot 9.30 Tue Aug 14 which is the same night it previously screened but I wouldn’t hold your breath.

  41. fire_at_will July 30, 2007 at 1:56 pm -

At the end of last month channel nine said they would begin to air the new season of Weeds sometime in July. It’s now the second last day of July and still no sign of it?

    Any idea what’s going on?

    Thanks!

  42. Corey July 22, 2007 at 8:14 pm -

    See you next year! ;)

  43. TelevisionAU July 22, 2007 at 6:47 pm -

  44. Corey July 20, 2007 at 3:15 pm -

Those 2 guys have been on Foxtel for years. Designer Guys was thier 1st show and this is thier newer one. Nothing like QEFTSG at all. Its just a Home Makeover show.

“”Okay, why don’t we let every mentally ill person off their meds and see how that plays out.”

Yes they will probably get better.”

Okay, then they can all stay at your house, especially the “former” paranoid schizophrenics….the ones prone to violence. See how well they do off their meds.

  53. David Knox July 15, 2007 at 2:25 pm -

Hm this is a new one on me. Will have to keep my eye out for it. They sure look ‘flamboyant.’

  54. TelevisionAU July 15, 2007 at 1:59 pm -

what happens when some Canadians take the “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” format that was so 2001, and make it into something “new”?

This was on Channel 9 this afternoon..

    http://www.hgtv.ca/ontv/titledetails.aspx?titleid=79133

Nine seriously scraping the bottom of the programming barrel now!!

  55. Anonymous July 14, 2007 at 1:40 pm -

People who believe in Global Warming are not a cult. It’s quite simple, we can continue to pollute the Earth and let other generations suffer. How arrogant to care solely about yourself and ignore any consequences.

Had you any common sense you’d see that MANY scientists quoted in the film have come out to say they were misrepresented in the documentary – which aired on Lateline on Thursday night. The movie was blatant propaganda – an admission by the scientists used in the film and you FELL FOR IT.

    Seem like you’re the cult.

Any coincidence that those who deny Global warming are typically right-wing neo-conservatives and religious types?

The deniers to global warming sound like Scientologists warning people about psychiatric drugs.

Okay, why don’t we let every mentally ill person off their meds and see how that plays out.

  56. Abstract Adam - Adam Oriti July 13, 2007 at 9:47 pm -

    ACA and POSH

Did anyone notice who’s name was on the Californian Drivers Lisence they imposed her on?

    No?? Well it said:
    Osama B Laden
    I kid you not!!!

  57. Abstract Adam - Adam Oriti July 13, 2007 at 9:45 pm -

ANON! You are right about it being a cult, I said to my partner it is like a religion, sucking people in to believe WE are the cause of this Global Warming and yes TONY was a moron.

  58. Anonymous July 13, 2007 at 8:21 pm -

Just really felt I had to say something about “The Great Global Warming Swindle” that aired on Wednesday.

I watched the documentary and being fairly cautious of it (Global Warming) already I tended to side with him.

I was then looking foward to some fairly balanced discussion of the documentary but decided to give it a miss becuase of Tony Jones interview with the film’s maker.

He was continually denying the filmmaker’s comments saying at one point “No, thats not true” when the man hadn’t even had the chance to finish his statement.

In conclusion, I was disgusted by Tony Jones and he only fed my skepticism of this “cult” as I will now refer to it.

  59. Corey July 13, 2007 at 8:05 pm -

    lol, thanks. :)

  60. David Knox July 13, 2007 at 4:02 pm -

Yes there is a new Simpsons July 31 “Stop or my Dog will Shoot” ;-)

  61. David Knox July 12, 2007 at 8:23 pm -

    Cheers, Corey.

BB goes for 1 hr followed by “Sleeping with the Enemy” at 8pm.

  62. Corey July 12, 2007 at 6:59 pm -

If you don’t mind, could you please tell me what The Simpsons episodes are being repeated on July 24, 2007. (The 7:30pm-8:30pm hour). Thanks, Great site/blog. One of my favourite sites and one of the most visited.

  63. David Knox July 12, 2007 at 12:04 am -

Well that’s certainly a new one on me.

I know its been shuffled around timeslots, but didn’t realise an entire 3rd series was dropped.

    Will ask around for u.

  64. Anonymous July 11, 2007 at 11:46 pm -

Hi David. Can I ask a question about Channel Nine’s broadcast of The Dead Zone?

I got around to viewing the episodes recently only to find that Nine have completely skipped the ENTIRE third season, picking up at the beginning of the 4th season instead(making those screened useless to devoted viewers).

Has Nine offered any explanation or even realise they’ve missed an entire season of episodes?

    Thanks for the help.

  65. David Knox July 11, 2007 at 1:35 pm -

    Dave? Eww.

I have nothing but respect for Damian’s work which has been nothing support of professional, supportive and whole-hearted. TV Tonight as a brand would be next to nowhere without the support of Damian, JOY and MCV.

  66. Anonymous July 11, 2007 at 1:01 pm -

Shame you are going Dave but we are really glad Damian wont be on anymore, that voice and the giggling all the time!

  67. Abstract Adam - Adam Oriti July 11, 2007 at 7:17 am -

Maybe do an audio spot on here.

  68. David Knox July 10, 2007 at 11:40 pm -

    Thanks for that! :-)

My JOY spot will be resting from the end of this monty while I focus on other projects. I’ll reassess radio options sometime in September.

  69. TelevisionAU July 10, 2007 at 11:34 pm -

don’t worry about the ‘anons’ of this world, David.. the amount of traffic the site gets indicates the time you put into it is much appreciated by many.. incidentally, does Damian leaving Joy mean no more “TV Tonight” on the radio? There are very few spots on the radio i try never to miss and “TV Tonight” is one of them

  70. Abstract Adam - Adam Oriti July 10, 2007 at 10:22 pm -

Well we just saw 1/2 of the 2nd ep os SEA PATROL, 1/2 beacause we had to turn it off. What crap. Acting just horrific. Ep 1 passable, this one really bad. Sorry, wont be going for a 3rd.

  71. David Knox July 10, 2007 at 6:58 pm -

Cutting Edge doco is listed in todays show highlights, 8:30pm on SBS.

Interesting angle from Anon for a free, volunteer run site maintained during the rest of one’s working life…

  72. Anonymous July 10, 2007 at 6:17 pm -

Dont worry found it, typically slow at answering msgs as usual. Also have seen some arrogance in your replys of late, you know its us who keep this site going, not you. be nice David.

  73. Anonymous July 10, 2007 at 5:58 pm -

HI David, you mentioned there is something baout Ebay tonight on SBS. What time is it? Is it on Cutting Egde?

  74. Anonymous July 9, 2007 at 9:56 pm -

    Thanks Again.

  75. Anonymous July 9, 2007 at 8:15 pm -

Say, do you have the Fox8 July Advance Guide somewhere? I’ll like you to upload please if you do, Thanks.

  76. David Knox July 9, 2007 at 7:44 pm -

    No. It’s a repeat at 7:30 and 8pm Tue.

  77. Corey July 9, 2007 at 5:45 pm -

Is there a new Simpsons during the week at a special different time then?

  78. David Knox July 9, 2007 at 5:33 pm -

    No new Simpsons.

    CSI Miami Tue are repeats.

    Movies on Seven Wed.

  79. Anonymous July 9, 2007 at 3:26 pm -

With 9 showing CSI Miami on Tuesday as well as Sunday can i assume the tues eps are going to be repeats?

what’s replacing heroes in the coming weeks? and what about DH?

  80. Corey July 7, 2007 at 1:40 am -
