Umm that's a novel take on it, but if nobody is watching TV because of torrents then advertising income is down leaving less money for Aussie shows.

Right?

Lol.

I would argue torrents are our only source of decent TV these days. On a positive not it should greatly devalue US shows leaving more money in the budget for aussie shows. Right?!?!

I've already seen the last 6 episodes, including the Trial. Quite sad that the new season will begin before 7 has finished with one. The internet is our last refuge from networks that care so little about their viewers. :)

if it's rating so well, why would they wrap it up early? Just to have some fresh episodes in the vault to hang to for later in the year?

A very, very silly move by Seven, this. The remaining six episodes are easily obtainable via BitTorrent, and though it's technically "illegal", the show's fans will feel no guilt whatsoever.

And then there's all the people who pass DVD-ROMs of TV series around to friends. If Seven doesn't think this has now become widespread, they've got their collective heads in the sand.

The downloaded versions also aren't edited to fit in more ads and promos, and aren't covered in annoying popup ads for It Takes Two and the like.

I download almost 100% of the shows I watch now. It was network behaviour like this that got me started, and there's no going back.
