No surprises to see TEN heading back to the future with Futurama replacing the 7pm edition of Big Brother.

  1. The ratings are down this year, but there’s no way they would axe the show. BB is relatively cheap to produce (especially when you consider the number of episodes they churn out every week).

Next season however, they need to bring in more colourful housemates, and I personally think the eviction process should change a little. I’m sick of seeing the most entertaining housemates leaving every week whereas fencesitters like Travis make it through to the end.

They also need to relax the censorship of UpLate. The ONLY thing they should be censoring are personal details and song lyrics. Hell, the word “mother****er” was censored for no good reason on UpLate. They should at least give it an M rating instead of MA15+.

They also NEED to bring back Uncut next year. The prudes should see what the programme is rated before they go off whinging about the program. I’ve seen worse on SBS.

  2. Plans for Big Brother 2008 are already well underway, so it will be back next year. In any case, it rates far too well every night for Ten to even consider axing it.

  3. I welcome the return on Futurama replacing the train-wreak and painfully slow death that was Big Brother Australia. Big Brother is surely done in Australia after this year.

I think you can tell a show is going to have to end once the “fan sites” can’t even be stuffed to keep updating their content.

I think maybe Big Brother Uncut was helping to hold the audience to the show in previous years, now that’s gone and the sex can no-longer sell, neither can the show.

This year Big Brother certainly doesn’t seem to have had the water cooler effect of previous years.
