Wedged out?

TEN is dropping The Wedge from its Sunday schedule.
The sketch show will not screen this Sunday, instead replaced by a movie, Happy Gilmore.
This week the show only had 529,000 (ep 1) and 347,000 viewers (ep 2).
TEN came fourth behind the ABC for the night.
As the show still gives TEN local quota points, expect to see the remaining episodes later in the year.

“We will post news of our new timeslot and broadcast news as soon as it has been decided.” http://www.thewedge.com.au
Frankly this sounds like Producer’s spin for “we’ve been dropped for now.”
Like I said it will return at some point given its local quota value, but if they don’t have a time yet I wouldn’t hold your breath.
It will be back in a new timeslot. See the offical Wedge website for more info.
I must say I am surprised, I thought this series was much better and others I’ve spoken to thought the same. But if they’re not going to do any publicity on it, why on earth would they expect it to rate?
I wouldn’t be surprised if Happy Gilmore bombs and TEN plays an hour-long block of “Late Night” Simpsons instead.
Goodbye and good riddance! And take Jason Gann with you.
Wow. That was fast. I thought Ten would have it hang around long after it was apparent that it was a ratings bomb. Wonder what’s going to be on the week after that?Another hour of the Simpsons perhaps?
How wonderful…Channel 10 is going to end up showing Formula 1 at midnight because Idol and Rove will run late…and then 2hrs+ for a movie…
No wonder we get our TV shows online.
Torrents are the way to go people.
Awful, awful show. Although I did notice it’s gotten a bit more “hardcore” since the last series.
As for getting rid of Rove – why? He’s not doing bad numbers at all. A million last weekend.
Not surprised. The coveted 9.40pm Sunday slot hasn’t done TEN any favours in years. I doubt that the overplayed Happy Gilmore would do much better.
I reckon Wedge would either move to Saturdays, or Ten would take a gamble and air it Thursdays or Tuesday evenings at a time where the series’ target audience is actually awake.
Our national shame is over.
Finally!!! Completely terrible and unfunny show. Now let’s get rid of Rove…
Torchwood had more viewers! Hint, hint.
No surprise. I personally believe an hour timeslot is way too much bad comedy. Only Comedy Inc could get away with it, just barely.
