ABC chases ratings

By David Knox on October 25, 2007 / Filed Under News 4

The ABC put in another solid Wednesday performance last night, with Spicks and Specks, The Chaser and Summer Heights High all winning their timeslots and taking out the top 3 positions of the night.

The Chaser was the top show of the evening with 1.64m viewers.

In Sydney the network was less than 1% away from being the top network of the night. In Melbourne it came fourth in a close tussle with the other three commercial networks.

The ABC was so thrilled with the wins, it even sent out a Press Release crowing about the figures.

This is despite the network continually dredging up the line that the ABC doesn’t care about ratings. I guess sometimes they do.

Meanwhile, Nine actually managed to win the night followed by TEN and Seven.

Um, Luke – why would Newstopia – show on SBS – be mentioned in an article about the ABC’s ratings win ??

    No mention of NEWStopia?

I don’t know if I was just in the right mood for it, but I thought Wednesday’s episode of NEWStopia was the absolute best yet!

And can I say, it’s so great to be able to watch it again online for free at sbs’ website! yay
