Gallery: Gone in 2007

By David Knox on December 29, 2007 / Filed Under News 22

They came and they went. Some were favourites we’ll always remember. Many we have already forgotten.

In 2007 there were sentimental finales, long overdue finales, shows that were “rested”, some that were axed in the US before they even made it here, a few that we hope will still make it here, several that just weren’t renewed, many that were dropped without trace, and a few who retired from their role.

Here is a cattle call of those shows that got their marching orders in 2007 one way or another, with a few finales we’re still yet to see.

Got any more?

If you even watched Tench you knew he wasnt coming back, he made constant references to his poor ratings and on his last show told everyone he didnt think he was coming back. Anyone who has half a brain new he wasnt voming back lol, the paper probably didnt report it because it was a gimmie lol

my gosh how could we have forgotten……….. Gretel Killeen??!

As per above my view was Tench was axed by the end of 06 because it wasn’t announced as part of the 07 line up.

But it was April that the official word came thru.

David, David Tench didn’t air since Xmas 2006, so that shouldn’t count. And I believe Ronnie Johns hasn’t been renewed due to Tench’s abysmal lead-in (or lack of). Hell, a once-off Simpsons episode which followed an episode of David Tench rated at only 310,000. :|

I’m still missing The O.C. though, but the producers F’ed up the show by failing to plan the series ahead (which is why Season 3 was so bad). Plus they killed off Alan Dale!!! >:( Many people fail to realize that he held the show together despite his unforgivable lack of screentime in Season Two.

Last year’s season of Comedy Inc was awesome. Dave (do you mind if I call you Dave?) what happened to half of the cast and the old writers/producers? Was there a falling out?

Passions was picked up but it also ending. Plus new eps haven’t aired in Oz.

No more Love My Way sorry.

Don’t think Ronnie Johns aired in 07 I will have to check.

So there definitely won’t be a 4th series of Love My Way?

  11. Anonymous December 30, 2007 at 5:18 pm -

Ronnie John’s? Or is that still continuing?

  12. Anonymous December 30, 2007 at 5:09 pm -

    RIP Love My Way. :(

Also, wasnt Passions Picked up again in the US on another network?

  13. David Knox December 30, 2007 at 2:33 pm -

Sort of… in my view yes it was. But print media didn’t seem to pick up on this until April which I thought was belated. So I’ve generously included it here to cover all bases.

Some nice other suggestions here, including Veronica Mars.

Jericho hasn’t come back to Oz.

    Wasn’t Tench canned in 2006?

  15. Anonymous December 30, 2007 at 2:20 pm -

    VERONICA MARS!!!!!

David, how could you forget our favorite mystery solver? She will be missed…

In regard to Jericho, does that count? It did kind of get put back into the sechdule after being canceled.

Put it this way, its conspicuously absent in the 2008 launch for Nine. Looks like with all of Nine’s drama they no longer need the points.

  18. Anonymous December 30, 2007 at 11:50 am -

The Class was the best US show to not get renewed… its very upsetting
