TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES, a powerful, action-packed new television series, premieres Tuesday, February 12 at 8.30pm on Channel Nine.

TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES – which premiered in the United States with more than 18 million viewers – takes place after the events of the movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day. At the end of Terminator 2, Sarah Connor destroyed the Terminator sent from the future to eliminate her son, John.

The new series stars Lena Headey (300, The Brothers Grimm, The Remains of the Day) as Sarah Connor, a mother and fearless warrior; Thomas Dekker (Heroes, 7th Heaven, Village of the Damned, Star Trek: Generations) as Sarah’s courageous and rebellious son John Connor, who just might be the saviour of mankind; Summer Glau (Serenity, Firefly, The Unit) as Cameron Phillips, a puzzling and mystical student who John Connor befriends at high school; and Richard T. Jones (Judging Amy) as tough FBI agent James Ellison, who is determined to apprehend Sarah.

Sarah Connor decides to stop running and fight the ever-evolving technological enemies that are set on destroying her and John, as well as mankind. Now they find themselves alone in a very dangerous and complicated world. Fugitives from the law, they are confronted with the reality that there are still enemies from the future and the present that could attack at any time.

Sarah discovers that protecting her son from their enemies and stopping the rise of the killer machines is far more difficult than she had ever imagined. Meanwhile John’s only friend, Cameron, proves to be much more than his buddy. She is his fearless protector, a cyborg sent from the future, relentless in her mission to protect him. And the equally relentless FBI agent, James Ellison, might also yet become a powerful ally for them all.

Monster House, from the director of Kath & Kim, is a riotous new Australian comedy series hosted by Bernard Curry that premieres Tuesday, February 12 at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.

Monster House revolves around the Webbs who on the surface appear like an ordinary family. But if you look a little closer you’ll realise they are fake.

This hysterical reality sitcom is full of surprises, with a cast of comedy actors posing as a wacky, fictitious family who play outrageous hidden-camera pranks on helpless members of the public.

Each episode features three or four pre-recorded scenarios and a live follow-up segment where the victims return to recount their embarrassing experiences in front of a studio audience.

The Webbs’ home and home office was built especially for the series. Hidden cameras and microphones are secreted in the walls to capture every reaction of their trustful, unwitting victims who have been set up by family members, friends or employers. Along with very convincing performances from the Webbs, it sets the scene for hilarious and unpredictable situations.

Meet the Webb family: Glenn Butcher stars as John Webb, a keen entrepreneur who is constantly starting new business ventures which are always doomed to failure. Karen (Celia Ireland) is his loving wife, a warm and caring mother but not well organised. They have two children, son Jack (Travis Cotton), a professional student who’d be happy to live at home forever, and younger daughter Natalie (Jody Kennedy). A gorgeous straight-A student at university, she is the apple of her father’s eye while her mother is far more critical.

Doris, aka Nana (Julie Herbert), the mother of Karen Webb, lives in a retirement home but hates it, so she often stays with the family. She seems slow and fragile but she’s bunging it on a bit. Rebel Wilson plays Penelope, childhood friend of Natalie, and she also works in the family business as the receptionist. She is inappropriate, flirtatious and naïve about the world but happy to express her opinions on everything.

In episode one an unsuspecting investment broker is sent to the Webb home to offer financial assistance. It all goes terribly wrong when he is given a suitcase full of dodgy cash and the police come knocking at the door. In another episode an innocent temp secretary is caught in the middle of a bizarre love triangle.

Monster House has been created and produced by Endemol Southern Star, Australia ‘s largest independent producer.

What will the victims of Monster House do when they are exposed to these extreme situations? And how do they escape? Welcome to the house of fun.

    Thanks
