Gone: Psych

TEN has pulled Psych from its schedule.

It will be replaced by Burn Notice effective from next week.

The change sees Burn Notice move from a planned 8:30 premiere to 9:30pm. NCIS repeats remain at 8:30pm instead of disappearing.

This week Psych had an audience of 644,000, down from NCIS‘ lead in of 877,000.

No word on the unaired eps of Psych, now archived in this site’s Missing in Action.

I am guessing this will end up on TENHD and then those of us who actually enjoy this show who live in regional areas will miss out on seeing it. Southern Cross Ten does not yet broadcast the HD from ten, and will not be for some time to come from what is being said on other forums. This is sad as this wasnt a bad show when you take the time to actually sit down and watch

Well, Ten, that’s what happens when you pull a just-starting show for two weeks for the Xmas period. Idiots.

And here I was thinking this was NON RATINGS period…

Remember, Ten, you have TenHD. Use it.

Free to Air stations need Psych treatment.

I thought this was an awesome show, hopefully it comes onto TEN HD

The only reason ratings dipped a bit was because TEN took it off for 2 weeks after only screening 2 episodes.

This was one of the best shows on this summer, and I hope TEN reschedules it immediately.

Between the empty slots on TEN HD and the dozen repeats on TEN, you think that could fit it in somewhere!

Yep, Psych is a very good show, actually gets better in the second season. I’m suprised they didn’t try to run this in the ratings period.

Well maybe they will try putting it in the ratings period - it would just be nice for TEN to put it on at sometime! Not just remove it with minimal warning!

So all the shows which 10 don’t have much faith in, Battlestar Galactica, The Office,Smallville,Journeyman, etc, well the only way you will see them is on 10HD, anyone else who doesn’t have ability for 10HD, TOUGH!!

    Oh good lord!

This is suspossed to be the non-ratings period!! Give these shows a chance… first The Big Bang Theory and now Pysch my 2 favourites for this summer.

Guess I’ll better go and get a HD Box just incase… :(

Ten’s own fault really! What with their eratic programming over the summer.

It’s a shame because it was such a good show. I still don’t get why a show’s audience numbers are touted during the non-ratings period. And why good shows are ripped off the air. It’s summer, leave them on and give your audience faith in your network.

Let’s just hope they put it on TEN HD!

If Ten are going to rip every other program off there SD channel and either play it only on the HD channel or not at all, what in heck are they going to play on the SD channel? Even more repeats of Law and Order??? Reality Crap?

No wonder people look for there fave shows from the US via different means mostly due to being constantly shafted by the programmers of the FTA channels in Australia.

    I loovve this show.
    Shame TEN !!! Re-schedule immediately!

what the? psych is a great show that deserves primetime, I’m sick of NCIS re runs! :S

I have to say I gave up on Psych after one and a half episodes. I couldn’t stand the dodgy lead character. That and the tone felt so dated and lightweight. I kind of have an intense dislike of “lightweight” shows about murder anyway. There’s something profoundly wrong about that to me, and not a religious nut or anything!

Still, if you are a fan, you can always order season one of Psych from Amazon from the US.

Just another example of commercial networks complete disregard for the viewing public. Vote with your off switch and obtain the programs elsewhere to watch commercial free at your leisure.

    Noooooooooooooo!!

    I LOVE THIS SHOW!

They could’ve atleast kept it on until the start on the ratings period! I live in a regional area and can’t pick up Ten HD.

    Grrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Anonymous on January 15th, 2008 10:55 am

FTA stations have only themselves to blame when the viewing public abandon them for imported DVDs or downloaded shows.
Psych had potential. Esp over the summer “non-ratings” period. To pull it on grounds of ratings is ridiculous.
    Shame TEN, shame!

Who do they survey anyway? I’ve never once been asked my viewing habits.
Hallelujah for the ABC and SBS, who actually screen what they say they will, when they say they will, and have the gumption to see their shows through to the end.

Man, can they get it right.

That was a great show! They did the same to Journeyman.

Got something to say?
