I don’t know about you, but I just want to go out and buy me some baguettes and croissants.
According to a new blog looking at all things ABC, the change is due on February 4.

now that anonymous at 23:58 mention it.. the blue, white and red does have shades of the old London Weekend Television about it
France? Poo poo. I think it looks utterly utterly British! Catchphrase: “It’s your BBC”. Or “a cold wet change is coming”
How about some vodka comrade?
Perhaps it will be like UK television where BBC1 (+BBC World) has red logos and ITV1 has the french blue colour.
Nice promo. Yes, the three colors start off (from top to bottom) blue, white, and red like the French flag, but these colors are reversed about five seconds into the promo. Still, there is still something French about it.
It reminds me slightly of the old Seven ‘swirl’ idents, where they would zoom between different Seven personalities.
30 Seconds on hellishly boring promotion!
I actually think that’s a really slick promo. Not nescessarily original but there’s something about it that was very ABC, and not just the personalities.
THE FRENCH ARE COMING!!!!!
Some have theorised that ABC1 will predominantly use the blue colour, while ABC2 will use the red…
You’re right that our flag has those colours as well (so do a lot of other countries!), but in that configuration – blue, white then red (especially with that shade of blue, it’s quite light) – it mimics the French flag.
They need a darker hue for the blue to match our flag.
I’m with you David the first thing i thought of was France with those colours..
I thought the australian flag had the colors blue white and red. Mixed with
the aussie person and promoting the aussie product on aussie tv, I dont see anything french about it at all.
