Archer takes Carey’s TV gig

Former North Melbourne captain Glenn Archer will take Wayne Carey’s vacant seat on the Nine panel show Footy Classified.

Carey, also a former North Melbourne player, was dropped by Nine following a domestic incident and arrest last month, followed by revelations of trouble with the law in the US.

Archer’s appointment of the role will be seen as a controversial move given the two former teammates had a prickly off-field relationship.

Archer joins Gary Lyon, Caroline Wilson and Craig Hutchison.

Footy Classified returns to selected states at 10:30pm on Monday March 10.

  1. I don’t really care. What’s this about Norf Melbourne players dominating a footy show? Give me a break.
Oh, sorry, I can’t watch this in Sydney. Goooood.

  2. Thank God. Finally someone that can and will tell it how it is, and not put all the fluff in. Someone, who is not going to need controversy, just to keep their job and ego..

    Bring on the Archer
