Foxtel exec returns to Nine

The Nine Network has appointed Les Sampson, formerly of Foxtel, as its new Director of Acquisitions, Daytime Programming and Digital Television.

Sampson, who has previously worked for Nine too, will return to participate in Nine’s HD developments and business strategies. At Foxtel he was General Manager of Acquisitions.

Nine programming exec Michael Healy said, “We are delighted to be working with Les again. Les brings with him incredible domestic and international experience and he will be a highly valued addition to the Network and its programming department.”

Sampson added, “I am very excited about this wonderful opportunity and to be working with Michael and the Nine team. It’s a really exciting time in television and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.”

The Nine Network Australia today announced that highly regarded television executive, Les Sampson, has been appointed to the role of Director of Acquisitions, Daytime Programming and Digital Television.

Formerly the General Manager of Acquisitions for FOXTEL, Sampson will return to Nine to strengthen the Network’s programming within multi-channelling opportunities and high definition development. In addition, Sampson will also be responsible for the Network’s business strategy in both acquisitions and daytime programming.

Sampson, who will report to Michael Healy, will join the Network shortly.
