Ray crosses host job off his dance card

By David Knox on March 13, 2008 / Filed Under News 3

Ray Martin has ruled himself out as a possible host for Dancing with the Stars. Now we can all get some sleep.

But wait, he hasn’t crossed off Australian Idol, Big Brother Up Late or the new female role in Hi-5 off his list yet.

Ray’s been exploring his options with other networks, saying, “I’m a gun for hire … I’ve had coffees, conversations and too many lunches involving all of the other networks, including the ABC.”

And he is leaving the door open to involvement with news and current affairs at Nine -which kind of begs the question, why are we going through all this farewell pain, Ray?

The Australian says Martin’s discussions with the ABC, where he worked before joining Nine 30 years ago, are believed to have included ideas for new programs. Nine’s rejection of his programming ideas is believed to have been a source of tension between them.

No doubt media, and Martin, will keep us posted on every last thought process on this enthralling saga as they have done so far.

Has anybody seen John Safran lately?

maybe the fact Ray feels the need to blurt about these “negotiations” is because they’re not going as sweetly (ie. not enough $$$)as he might have imagined and he wants his old job back??? :)

OMG – its over Ray, its over !!! time to move on honey !!

Could you imagine him hosting Dancing with the Stars – actually, I would watch the show if he did, just for the train wreck it would be.

Anyway, how would he hold the clipboard out on the dance floor
