Rumour: Nine signs Tim Campbell?

By David Knox on March 20, 2008 / Filed Under News 8

Spies have suggested to TV Tonight that Tim Campbell has signed with the Nine Network, possibly to host a new version of Wheel of Fortune.

A spokesperson for Campbell’s management, however, was unaware of the news. They said conversations had taken place with all networks.

Nine signing Campbell might potentially unstick future plans for Seven’s Dancing with the Stars, given he is one of several names that has been suggested as a possible replacement for Daryl Somers.

Campbell is currently appearing as Johnny O’Keefe in Shout -The Musical in Sydney.

Nothing wrong with being the next burgo lol. He’ll need a mustache though!

Tim will be a great addition to Nine.

Do they need ANOTHER game show? Tim wasn’t bad as a host, but he’s not great either. Such a waste to be the next Burgo.

Jie the rights will likely lay with Fremantle and Seven’s option to renew may have expired. At this stage it is all yet to be confirmed.

Good actors or singers don’t necessarily make good hosts. He wasn’t that great on the Bingo show, so what makes Ch 9 think he’s going to be better on WoF.
