The Seven Network has taken out Week 11, the fifth week of ratings for 2008, giving it three survey wins over Nine’s two.

Seven had a 28.2% share over Nine’s 27.6% and TEN’s 22.5%. The ABC had 16.6% and SBS 5.1%.

Seven won all cities except Melbourne, which fell to Nine. So far this ratings year, Nine has had a clean sweep in Melbourne despite lacking the Underbelly series.

Seven won Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday with the other three nights taken by Nine.

Its about money, and thats what TV stations/business’ do, make money. The difference between a few percent in ratings is thousands and thousands of dollars to them. Its like a big game of Monopoly where everyone wants to win.

Surely I’m not the only one that really, really is getting bored with the weekly pissing contest between Seven and Nine?

The only effect this ego-fest has on us viewers is that the shows we turn the TV on to watch get rescheduled without warning or cancelled without notice, all for the sake of that extra tenth of a percentage point.

The networks care. The advertisers undoubtedly care.

    We don’t.
