Two of Smallville’s biggest stars are rumoured to be uninterested in returning for season eight of the series.
Michael Ausiello reports that Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) and Kristen Kreuk (Lana Lang) want out. Surely a major blow to the series if it comes to pass?
“Sources close to the show tell me that both actors have informed producers that they don’t intend to return as series regulars next season. However, they are open to doing limited engagements, and those details are being worked out as we speak.”
Smallville currently screens in Australian on TEN HD.

Kristen Kreuk is almost universally hated on the show, and her leaving is long overdue.
Rosenbaum, however, is terrific.
It’s time for for the curtain to come down on Smallville; it’s had its run.
The loss of Lana Lang is absolutely necessary … but the loss of Lex is a bit of an issue … however, he really does not need to be around until the adult Clarke Kent is working for the Daily Planet, wearing silly glasses and obsessing over Lois who is currently more of a rival for him.
