Spoiler: Dean Geyer arrives in Ramsay St

Let the squealing begin. Later this month Aussie Idol star Dean Geyer joins the fray in Erinsborough.

His inclusion follows the casting of previous TEN reality stars including Blair McDonough and Dan O’Connor.

Geyer appears in Neighbours from Thursday March 27.

He joins the soap the day before Harold Bishop (Ian Smith) leaves.

To learn more about his debut read on.

Warning: minor spoilers.

Geyer’s debut is pretty tame, aside from the fact that he gets to sing a song (surprise, surprise).

He appears as a rock musician named Ty at a teenage dance.

He seems to be the apple of Rachel’s eye as the two meet awkwardly (she bumps into him, lots of teenage embarrassment etc).

From there he makes his way to the stage and strikes up a song while most of the Ramsay St girls tease Rachel about making a first impression. Yes, rivetting stuff.

The sum total of his dialogue couldn’t be any more than about a dozen lines, but no doubt he has a lot ahead of him.

Neighbours screens 6:30pm weeknights on TEN.

  1. Most of the money for his album went to his stylist and wardrobe.. Its funny how some musos trying to become “rockstars” or the equivalent try to achieve the rock look and starving artist feel by spending a bucket load of cash on Chapel street to get their look 😛
The reason the Sex Pistols dressed the way they did with the chains and tape was to actually keep there clothes together as they didnt have two coins to rub together at any given time.

  2. must be sad that there are legitimate & unemployed actors out there who would kill for a role on any production, and non-actors like this are given a free ticket into Neighbours because they didn’t win a reality show?

Jan Russ was once quoted in press reports that she would never consider hiring a reality TV contestant for Neighbours, and now a few years down the track she’s hired three.

  3. Can’t say I’m surprised by this. I was actually expecting this to happen after his CD flopped in the charts and his eviction from Idol. I wonder if they’ll give Corey a role. Its a possibility
