Television Without Pity goes without
The creators of the snarky US TV website Television Without Pity are walking away from their site, one year after it was purchased by Bravo Media.
“We really can’t express how much we’ve enjoyed working here with, and for, all of you over the years, and how much we’ve always appreciated your encouragement and support. Television Without Pity is what it is because of its fantastic users, and you guys kept us going through some tough times (emotionally as well as fiscally),” say writers Wing Chun, Sars, and Glark.
Television Without Pity is a site chockful of attitude, recapping episodes of TV with its distinct, humorous flavour. It has even won admiration from noted TV creatives like Aaron Sorkin and Rob Thomas.
Bravo Media is the parent company of Bravo TV, makers of shows like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Project Runway and Inside the Actors Studio.
Leaving two days short of one year after its acquisition, it sounds a lot like part of the purchase could have included a clause that retained the team for 12 months.
The team leaves next Tuesday.

My Name Is Earl gave a shout out to these guys in an episode once. I’m not a regular there, but all the best to them in their futures and whatever they choose to do post-TWOP
I have been a regular lurker over there since the early seasons of The Amazing Race. It’s a fantastic community site and I wish the trio all the best for the future.
(Heck, I even bought the TWOP book! Proof of commitment… or of having too much spare cash?)
