Airdate: I’m a Celebrity get me out of here!

You’d be hard pressed to recognise many celebrities amongst this bunch. There’s Jason Donovan and David Gest, and a few UK soap actors. Nevertheless TEN will screen the UK reality trash I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here (2006) which has already aired here on the UK channel.

It airs at 9:30pm Friday May 2 following Friday Night Live.

Meanwhile Friday Night Lights (the critically acclaimed US drama), languishes on TEN HD in a later timeslot. Crazy…

Ten celebrities are dropped into the Australian outback for the endurance test of a lifetime. To earn anything half decent they’ll have to undergo some of the most terrifying and stomach churning ‘Bushtucker Trials’. Hosted by Ant & Dec.

Featuring: Jason Donovan Australian actor and singer, most famous for appearing in Neighbours; David Gest American TV producer and concert promoter and ex-husband of Liza Minnelli; Matt Willis Former member of pop/rock band Busted; Myleene Klass Classical pianist, TV presenter, former member of the British reality TV pop group Hear’Say; Malandra Burrows Actress (Emmerdale played Kathy Glover); Phina Oruche Actress (Footballers’ Wives and Charmed); Lauren Booth Former model, journalist and sister-in-law of former UK prime minister Tony Blair; Faith Brown Actress, comedienne and impressionist; Dean Gaffney Actor (EastEnders played Robbie Jackson); Jan Leeming TV presenter and newsreader; Scott Henshall Fashion designer; Toby Anstis Radio presenter and former CBBC presenter.

  1. John, 7 did “Celebrity Survivor” a few years back with Dicko hosting, which is esentially the same as this, it didnt do so well so no second season was ever made

  2. I really enjoyed the 2 series on UKTV and David Guest cracked me up in this series that will air on Ten, as did ‘Robbie’ from Eastenders.

The problem with it being on Ten though is that people will have to wait a full week between episodes and it will be hard to keep viewers interested in a lot of people they don’t really know of.
Seeing it 5 nights a week was a lot more enjoyable on UKTV.

  3. i gotta say, this show is the ultimate guilty pleeasure, ive been hooked on the 2 series that have aired on UKTV, its so horribly bad that its addictive!

  4. I’m guessing the only reason they’re screening this season is because of Jason Donovan, there’s no other reason to screen 15 month old reality TV episodes (though Seven also did that with the last series of the Amazing Race, but granted TAR is arguably a superior program).

Well, I guess its better than having to put up with the same three movies Ten keeps repeating ad nauseum.
