And all we got was Joey Fatone

By David Knox on April 5, 2008 / Filed Under News 4

Take a look at the different Singing Bee productions around the world: USA, Australia, Belgium, Chile, China, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Italy, the Middle East, New Zealand, Norway, the Philippines, Russia, Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands and Turkey. That’s 25 territories in total.

This clip shows you don’t need an imported host to make the thing work. The show lives or dies on its karaoke concept more than the smiley host.

As previously reported, TV Tonight hears Nine is planning a return to series production for Singing Bee, hopefully with a local host.

Just Echoing my comments from a previous post on this subject. Love this show and think there is still some life in it. Great early evening Sunday light entertainment!

As a longtime *NSYNC fan, I was surprised at Nine picking Joey for our version. He became the only reason I tuned in (rarely!)

This show was axed last week by NBC in their announcement of their 2008-2009 lineup.
