Press Release:

Totally new episodes of the Australian-made animation series Dogstar will screen on the Nine Network from April 12, 2008. Although Nine already screened eight episodes of the award-winning series last year; as a result of the series’ strong ratings in the 5-12 age group it began screening the full 26 part series from February this year.

Having recently won the Outstanding Achievement for Animation Production at the Western Australian Screen Awards, the series continues to draw accolades following its win at the Asia Image 2007 Apollo Awards and its AWGIE award for Best Children’s Television Script (2006).

Set in the year 2347, Dogstar follows the adventures of the Clark kids and their search in space for their missing pet dog ‘ Hobart’.

The 26 x 30-minute series, produced entirely in Australia by Media World Pictures, has been sold to more than 20 countries including the BB (UK), ZDF (Germany) and HBO (South America).

Dogstar currently screens at 8.10amon Saturday mornings as part of the Nine Network’s WB Kids program.
