BB: First housemate evicted

The Big Brother housemates have evicted one of their own.

The fourteen contestants were forced to choose one of their own to leave the house on the first night.

All housemates elected to give a short speech about why they should stay. At dawn Big Brother made the housemates give a public vote one by one. It was a strategy that will ensure conflict in the first week.

Terri was evicted already, apparently never to return. BB said there is no hidden room or second house. That’s it.

This outcome is surely the last thing producers would have wanted. Long criticised for its “frathouse” casting, losing such a point of difference will hurt storylines immensely.

Ben and Nobbi were also top votes.

And in a teaser twist for Wednesday’s show, Terri appears to have been given the power to evict someone…. will she take her revenge on Nobbi?

  1. I wouldn’t write off Terri yet. She was evicted, but hasn’t done any media interviews like every other evicted person has done. Kyle & Jackie O’s morning radio program didn’t even have her.

She also wasn’t evicted by the public so they can quite easily put her back.

We know there are various secret rooms and a second outdoor area with a bigger pool according to photos taken from light planes.

BB’s last rule is that he can change the rules at any time. It would be silly of Ten/SSE not to execute it.

  2. I would have been surprised if the older female did NOT get voted out first. So predictable and boring of the other housemates.

Of course, other contenders were the fun asian guy and the intelligent, young law student.

There is obviously no room for real, smart or different on this show. Reality television still remains unreal and uninspiring.

    Blond and vacuous FTW!!!!

  3. So much for Kyle saying on the launch night the HMs came “from all age groups and all walks of life” – only one HM was over 30 and she’s gone, and I think only one of the remaining ones is over 25.

Way to go Ten. It almost seems that the only thing new about this year is that the chicks aren’t all blonde.

If they wanted to really make a difference half the HMs would be over 30. Not just a token thing.

  4. Damn that result sucks, but I guess I did see it coming when she was the only person of her age group and that really did make her a target for the younger crowd.

I was so looking forward to seeing how things went with an older person in the mix and now we are back to the young mix after just 1 day.
    Bugger!

  5. I really can’t believe this. It was bad enough watching the launch hoping for something different and seeing the same old bimbo’s, meatheads and the odd quirky housemate (exactly like previous years!)
…and now they have evicted the only individual who could have made the show stand apart from other years. I’m no fan of Terri, but it was obvious she would have stirred the pot.
Good one BB. The show looks EXACTLY the same as it always did.

  6. > Well done David – you posted this before either the offical BB site, OR Behind Bug Brother!

That’s not too surprising, Channel Ten have a terrible history of quickly updating their sites based on the results of live shows. It’s like they’re living in last decade or something.

Thankfully Mr. Knox here is always Mr. Reliable and updates his site as soon as the action happens.

  7. I can’t belive they’ve done this silly twist on the first night. I’m sure she would have lasted longer as audience reactions on launch was priceless.

Any chance that this Gatecrashers special on Sunday could include her going back in?

  8. Well done David – you posted this before either the offical BB site, OR Behind Bug Brother! Which, because I’m stuck at work and desperate to know who went (tho I kinda guessed who it would be) is a godsend!
