Denton may snub Logie night

Andrew Denton would rather be sitting home watching the Logies than being there for the big night.

“Don’t get me wrong — I love the Logies,” the host of ABC’s Enough Rope with Andrew Denton told The Sydney Morning Herald.

“But I think the best way to watch them is at home on the couch in my jarmies.”

Denton, who previously hosted the Logies to wide acclaim, has been nominated for both the Gold and a Silver (Most Popular Presenter).

“Well, I don’t think the bookmakers are holding out any hope of that happening,” he said.

“I seriously think it’s very unlikely that I will win.

“In fact, I think I may be the only person in Australian television who has not won a Logie.

“If the Logies are being handed out for originality and talent then the Gold Logie should go to Chris Lilley,” he said.

The only Gold Logie winner to be absent for the acceptance of the Gold was Jana Wendt, who won in 1992 for A Current Affair.
