Good News as favourites return

Flacco and Sandman will return to Good News Week this Monday night.

The two comedians today were surprise inclusions at a recording of TEN’s GNW at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival today, and the crowd was certainly abuzz. As cast members with a long history on the show, their stand-up routines were all too brief in between the panel segments. The Umbilical Brothers also appear.

Panellists included Wil Anderson, Frank Woodley, Corrine Grant and visiting comic Reginald D. Hunter.

The gang were certainly having a fun time at their first Comedy Festival GNW in eight years, and the audience welcomed them back enthusiastically.

  1. neonkitten, you are not alone. Flacco and the Sandman turned me off GNW last time, they may very well do it again which is disappointing, because I was enjoying the new GNW.

  2. My son and his girlfriend went to the GNW live show in Melbourne on Saturday night and said it was great. They are only 19yo. There is a whole new audience out there this time around if people give it the time to get established. Also in our house ROVE is having a resurgence – once again – kids grow up and they discover categories of television have lost their gloss to some older viewers. As long as there is variety on our screens and we are allowed to watch the entire series of something (for a change) then I think we have little to complain about – as they say – something for everybody. It’s great to see the Comedy Festival thriving as it is – a great grounding for new and established comics.

  3. I’m with Human Dree and NeonKitten – get rid of those relics. And when I read the Umbilical Brothers were also joining, the first words that came to me were “get f*d!”.

There was a reason GNW got canned last time and there’s a reason Sideshow got canned. Paul’s just collecting his nails for the inevitable coffin.

  4. Sandman and Flacco were okay back in the day but now? They could give that spot to a bunch of prominent comedians instead of doing the time warp thing. We’ve seen that show, a lot, lets see something different.

  5. Oh, just bring back The Sideshow already! 🙂

(By the way, surely I can’t be the only one who finds absolutely no amusement or entertainment value in Flacco and the Sandman?)
