Axed: Men in Trees

News like this might just send Anne Heche roaming around Fresno again…

US network ABC has axed Men In Trees.

Series creator Jenny Bicks, confirmed the news to Michael Ausiello saying, “I am really proud of the work we did on MIT. A huge thank you to our supportive fans.”

“I wish the show had not been moved six times and put onto two long hiatuses,” she sighs. “No show could survive that.”

Bicks and her team prepared for Trees’ possible demise by shooting an alternate series-finale ending that will now be tacked onto the show’s last episode, which is slated to air in the US summer.

In Australia the show ultimately became summer filler for the Nine Network, but didn’t manage to find a strong enough audience to save it over non-ratings. Don’t expect to see this anytime soon in Oz.
