Early View on W

US panel show The View is set to fasttrack to an earlier daily timeslot on the W Channel starting tomorrow.

The show has already been screening hot off the satellite at 1:40pm. Now it moves to 11am.

Hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shephard, Barbara Walters, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the show has been nominated for a total of ten Daytime Emmys this year, with all five co-hosts receiving Emmy nominations for Oustanding Talk Show Host.

Last week Barbara Walters made news in the US for ‘fessing up to an affair with a politician back in the 1970s.

Emmy Award-winning talk and entertainment show, THE VIEW, will now air at 11.00am AEST weekdays, exclusive to W.

Broadcast straight off the satellite from the US two hours earlier than previously, the new timeslot will mean Australian fans of the popular talk show will get an even faster fix of the freshest news and celebrity interviews from its fiesty panel of presenters.

First airing on the W. Channel in 1997, THE VIEW is a dynamic daily chat-fest in which the outspoken co-hosts share their no-holds-barred opinions on hot topics in the news and interview the world’s leading celebrities from film, television and music.

Hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shephard, Barbara Walters, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the show has been nominated for a total of ten Daytime Emmys this year, with all five co-hosts receiving Emmy nominations for Oustanding Talk Show Host.

Since its premiere eleven years ago THE VIEW has received 22 Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show and has received numerous nominations, including eleven consecutive nominations for Outstanding Daytime Talk Show and Outstanding Talk Show host.

The show is produced by ABC Daytime and Barbara Walters’ Barwall Productions, with Walters serving as executive producer.

THE VIEW joins Rachael Ray, Montel, Dr Phil and Oprah as part of W.’s prestigious weekday talk show lineup.

THE VIEW airs weekdays at 11.00am AEST. Plus catch a week’s worth of The View on Sundays from 8.30am AEST

  1. I always thought 1.40pm was a bit of an unusal time as its a bit late to catch the lunch time people. I wish W would start shows on the hour and half instead of every 50mins. I used to love this show when Rosie O’Donnell did it as it was entertaining and intelligent. Now I can’t stand that “ignorant and George Bush loving” Elizabeth Haselback.
