Grim reaper looms over Murder Club

Channel TEN is having a bad run with the US networks making tough decisions on recent shows. Following on from word that Back to You is no more, and Women’s Murder Club has been knifed (updated).

Journeyman is another series without a future.

There’s better news for Seven with Boston Legal, Eli Stone, Scrubs (moving to ABC), Dirty Sexy Money and Private Practice renewed.

Pushing Daisies also gets another 13 eps, for Nine.

For Josh Lawson there is conflicting news on the US remake of Spaced, but the latest appears to bear good news.

  1. I’m glade I didn’t wait for ch9 to show Pushing Daisies, god know when they will happen.

Same goes for Studio 60, great show and a pity it got axed in the US 2 years ago! I doubt ch9 will ever air it, I was hopping it would be on 9HD at least. Maybe Showcase will air it some day?

Could just go to Amazon and get the DVD?

  2. Yay Boston Legal! Not too surprised about the others though. I also caught the pilot of New Amsterdam a while back and even though that’s all I’ve seen, I’m really bummed FOX have scrapped it.

  3. David, do you know when we’ll get to see Private Practice in Australia? I was certain it would suck, but after watching the cross over episode at the end of the third season of Grey’s I actually enjoyed it. Plus I’m having Kate Walsh withdrawals!

  4. Intelligent Television? Thats approaching an oxy moron right there. If one was truly intelligent they would be curing cancer and realize the pointlessness of investing emotional and intellectual time in a 45 minute drama, as well as the lack of brain power needed to digest fictional TV let alone reality TV etc.
Fortunately, I’m not intelligent so I will indulge 🙂
As for murder club, not surprised. Trying to mix Sex In the City with Law and Order was bound to be a no-brainer. You can only show ladies arresting bad guys and then going out to err “celebrate” so many times without it getting old.
I know the lady who does the artwork for Pushing Daises, some news is going to be released soon about that show.

  5. Rather annoyed about Womens Murder Club I was really getting into it. It’s even worse when ratings duds like Eli Stone get renewed.

As for Pushing Daisies have some patience Nine can’t show everything at once:)

  6. Well, to be fair, didn’t Ten shaft Journeyman to the HD channel before it got axed in the US? Really miss that show, by the way – it wasn’t given a proper chance.

Pushing Daisies? Yep, we’ll be downloading it just like we we’ve been already with the 9 episodes that Nine hasn’t even bothered to show outside of a Fairfax freebie DVD yet 🙂 Nine’s shown zero intention of programming this show so far, and when they do, it’ll last two weeks then get shunted to the 10.30 slot because it’s too intelligent for the people with the meters. And I’d still like to know what they intend to do with Studio 60. The fact that it hasn’t been screened in this country after nearly two years is astonishing.

I’m guessing, though, that George Michael is going to be REALLY happy that Eli Stone got renewed 🙂 And if you read that last sentence and didn’t quite understand what I’m on about… well, talk to Seven.

  7. You Know, I’ve known about Journeyman for some time, shame, but they were just hitting their stride. It was a bit like Quantum Leap albeit a much narrower jump window. but I love anything with a time paradox 🙂
