Look into my eyes, not around the eyes
After its success with Carson Kressley, TEN has another stunt lined up for Big Brother housemates.
Big Brother: Housemates Hypnotised will screen at 7:30pm Thursday May 29. It follows speculation on behindbigbrother.com that hypnotist Peter Powers would be entering the compound.
The move also continues a reliance on shortcut ideas to bump the show's lowly figures, moving further and further away from the premise of the show. In the show's original concept, housemates were expected to have no outside contact at all.
Don't Forget the Lyrics returns a week later.
Last year Powers made news in the bizarre case of a man who said he ran through Sydney traffic chasing leprechauns, after he had participated in a Powers stage show. It only served to deliver the hypnotist more publicity for his programme, airing on subscription TV.
Any suggestions on what he should make the housemates do while under his spell?

Make them mutes
I'm the first, but probably not the last, to suggest he does something with Travis' voice - maybe see how low it can go!
They tried to do this special in 2006 but didn't get enough willing participants.
I don't think hypnotisim is real, it's the participants that think it is real and loose thier inhibitions. It will be interesting to see how this rrates as I haven't seen any hynotisim displays on commercial tv since the 90s!
Travis and his voice is the most obvious candidate more this experience. If they're smart they will try to work with the relationships already formed in the house.
perhaps he can get dixie to stop sticking her hands down her pants...
These specials are the only thing keeping me watching, but hypnotism very 90's.
Clutching at straws is the term, yes?
They should get Derren Brown instead! At least there's a guy who knows how to screw with people's minds.
Most of what people talk about when they say "hypnotism" is really mesmerism. True hypnotism is more like meditation, and that's what you get when you go and pay for a hypnotist. Mesmerism, meantime, hasn't really been proven to be possible.
