TV Tonight on the Red Carpet

The Logies Red Carpet was a frenetic, glamorous affair as celebs from all corners of television strut their stuff.

Fans and media were agog at frocks, hairdos, and just trying to work out who the hell was who.

Even to the trained eye some personalities start to blur, particularly soapie actresses with up and coming female newsreaders. They all look so damned familiar, but try fumbling through a chat with an enthusiastic celeb when you completely blank on their name…. it leaves you with little more than an uninspiring “who are you wearing” and hoping to god they drop a clue.

The 50th Logies delivered a cavalcade of television’s best, brightest and beautiful. They veered from esteemed TV legends to budding first-timers. From reality stars one minute to ABC journos the next. It kept us all on our toes.

Some of the seasoned stars knew to by-pass the media throng to the ‘faces of today’ meaning soap legends like Val Lehman and Paula Duncan left those of us wanting to pay our respects unsatisfied. No fair!

Love them or loathe them, the Logies are a force to be reckoned with. And for media, it’s a bunfight just to steal 90 seconds and solicit something intelligible or interesting in a manic doorstop. TV Tonight succeeded some of the time, and for the rest really just gushed like a shameless media slut (admittedly I couldn’t bring myself to interview Bindi Irwin).
