Celebrities to spin Nine’s Wheel

Nine is sprucing up Million Dollar Wheel of Fortune next week with celebrities.

Bert Newton, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Denise Drysdale, Michala Banas, Dawn Fraser, Livinia Nixon, John Wood, Andrew Gaze, Nicole Livingstone, Rachael Beck and Blair McDonough will vie off for charity, and presumably a ratings push, on Nine’s newest game show.

When Seven had the show it too had celebrity weeks, although it probably wasn’t quite as dependent on a positive outcome. Nine has also added celebs to the return of The Singing Bee and the upcoming Hole in the Wall.

Nine has also made some slight modifications to the show’s set and wheel.

Press Release:

A stellar line-up of celebrities including Bert Newton, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Denise Drysdale, Michala Banas, Dawn Fraser, Livinia Nixon, John Wood, Andrew Gaze, Nicole Livingstone, Rachael Beck and Blair McDonough will join Million Dollar Wheel of Fortune hosts Tim Campbell and Kelly Landry for a very special celebrity week.

Each night next week they will spin the Million Dollar Wheel and have the chance to win $1,000,000 in cash for the charity of their choice.

The week spins into action on Monday, June 23 at 5.30pm on Channel Nine. Each night three celebrities will go head-to-head behind the wheel trying to land on the massive $1,000,000 cash jackpot, not the bankrupt wedge.

The special celebrity week is guaranteed to provide lots of laughs and fun. With the huge cash jackpot available every night, celebrity contestants will be doing all they can to collect as much cash as possible for their chosen charity.

Join Million Dollar Wheel of Fortune host Tim Campbell and co-host Kelly Landry when their celebrity friends spin by for a very special week.

  1. Sorry I got your imagination working overtime there, Richo, didn’t mean to make anyone cringe. It’s just that… well, that’s pretty much what the audience sounds like! 🙂

  2. man oh man… I so hope wheel lasts. I loved it on 7… was so pissed off when they canceled it and was over the moon that 9 got it… I hope it lasts. Been enjoying it so much!

  3. Yep I agree with everything you said there neon kitten if nine want to save million dollar wheel of flop then it is not the celebrities they need it is drastic changes to the show like a new host a bigger wheel and a petrol tanker full of sedatives for the audience

  4. Wow, celebrities, that’s original! Can’t wait to see who they are when they announce them [/sarcasm]

Seriously, if that’s a “stellar line-up” then Australian TV is in even greater terminal decline than I thought.

It won’t save Wheel this time around (just like “celebrities” couldn’t save Family Feud…)

The host is wrong, the set is REALLY wrong, the contestants are bland, the puzzles are way too easy, the new million-dollar thing is an impossible-to-win distraction, and the audience sounds like it’s having their skin peeled off and salt rubbed in the wounds in order to get the most over-the-top reaction humanly possible.
