Hawko wins Supermodel gig

Jennifer Hawkins has landed the hosting role on Seven’s Make Me A Supermodel, quite a coup given her broad popularity.

The show, being produced by Endemol Southern Star has had over 9000 applications and begins auditions in Sydney this weekend.

The announcement of the former Miss Universe, made this evening on Today Tonight, ends rumours on Erika Haynatz and Sarah Murdoch as possible contenders.

Chadwick’s Martin Walsh is the first judge to be named by Seven.

Press Release:
Channel Seven is delighted to confirm Jennifer Hawkins as host for the upcoming series, MAKE ME A SUPERMODEL.

The Great Outdoors presenter and former Miss Universe will guide viewers through the male and female contestants’ tumultuous journey towards their dream of being an international model.

At 24-years, Jennifer is already an Aussie icon and international star. She was an obvious choice for 2008’s most glamorous and hotly contested TV role.

“I’m so excited to be hosting Make Me A Supermodel. I’m already a big fan of the overseas versions of the show but I’m sure the Aussie one will blow them out of the water,” Jennifer says.

Jennifer hopes she can use her experiences as the face of major brands Myer,
Lovable and Covergirl, travelling the world as Miss Universe and her extensive TV
work to help out the Make Me A Supermodel hopefuls.

“I’ve had a great run with my career so far, I couldn’t ask for more, so it’s going to be amazing to watch these guys chase their dream,” Jennifer says.

“And if I can use my experience to help them out on the way, that would be a great bonus.”

Australia’s hottest unknown male and female models will strut their stuff for the first time in Sydney this weekend when the show’s first auditions are held.

Judges will be looking for not only an aesthetic element but also someone with the
smarts to take on the world.

Their quest will be to find a rough diamond they can shape into the next Aussie
superstar who will follow in the footsteps of Elle Macpherson or Travis Fimmel.

After a nationwide search, 14 male and female finalists will be housed together in a deluxe complex as they compete for a contract with Chadwicks Model Agency in
Australia and an international deal.
