Jericho’s fallout for two weeks

There’s a quiet, if brief, implosion coming to TEN’s scheduling of Jericho on the HD channel.

Currently, new eps are screening at 9:30pm Thursdays as part of the SciFi night followed by Eureka and The 4400.

But in two weeks’ time the show is resting. Instead Eureka takes its place for its last episode, and The 4400 moves to 10:30pm on July 3.

A spokesperson from TEN confirmed Jericho would return in mid July.

  1. so i’m guessing that the pushing the sci-fi night forward is so they can air those blackjack movies (does a HD screening even count towards the australian content quota?) so how many of these movies are there? hopefully jericho will be back after they have finished and ten won’t change their mind about it being back in july. jericho is really being butchered by this station, i thought once it was on 10HD it would be safe as those showings have been reasonably consistent coz they don’t have ratings, but no such luck.

  2. Be grateful you even get Ten HD on air, as Channel 10 is not broadcast outside of the major state capitals, SC 10 runs the normal SD channel, but not the 10 HD channel, and Canberra city is now Australia’s pirating capital.

If Channel 10 treats city viewers this badly with these sorts of shows, shifts them to HD channels that only city viewers with digital reception can receive, and then won’t lift a finger to encourage broadcast to a wider Oz audience through Southern Cross 10 network anyway – why do they even bother buying up the FTA rights to them? They can’t possibly be making money on them. Not all DVD chains stock them for rental either – what gives with the censorship?

  3. What the hell is Ten up to with this? They’re not even close to being at the “last” episode for Eureka – they have a whole 13-episode second season to go yet, and season 3 starts next month inn the US.

Why move the last episode of the season an hour earlier – to ensure people miss it?

The only explanation I can think of is that there must be some kind of sport event they need the HD channel for at midnight. But them why bump Jericho, which just returned a couple of weeks ago?

This is, to say the least, getting frustrating.
