Joan Rivers ejected from UK chat show

By David Knox on June 18, 2008 / Filed Under News 6

You gotta love Joan Rivers. She’s been booted off a UK talk show after calling Russell Crowe “f***ing shit.”

Warning: profanity.

Rivers, who says she thought the show Loose Women had a seven second delay, was asked to leave during a commercial break. As the clip indicates, Joan did pre-empt by saying “get ready to bleep.” ITV is said to have received 48 complaints even though the show apologised immediately.

“I have won an Emmy, been nominated for a Tony award, done every show and become an icon and when people ask me what is left in my career I have always said I don’t know, but I have never been forcibly thrown out of a TV studio. It is another milestone,” she said.

That’s Joan. More audacious than her surgery and photoshopped pics, and proud of it!

as if any kids or people who would get offended by such things would be watching such a tacky show as this is!

She’s one of a kind, that woman. Bless her and her excellent taste in criticism :)

Presumably only because it’s a day-time program. Joan Rivers has used that word (and others) on evening chat shows without incident. I agree that removing her from the show at the next break seems a bit pointless. I seem to recall an episode of Sunrise with someone from the Macquarie dictionary using the word “f***wit” and that interview was ended pretty quickly.

    oh thats just silly!
Shes a crack up and if anyone is really horribly offended they really need to have a coke and a smile.
We always have a laugh when we watch UK chat shows and even that Antique Roadshow thing, the UK guys are so precious and pretentious even though they invented our language and words like that, hehe.
