No spin-off for Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl, returned with a new episode on FOX8 tonight, but there is now confirmation from producer Josh Schwartz (The OC) that no spin-off in the works.

“Not sure how this got out there, but no plans for spinoff at this moment,” Schwartz told EOnline. “The books do have a spinoff, but we have nothing in the works right now other than making sure season two gets off to a great start.”

So cancel any idea of a series with Taylor Momsen’s character, Jenny Humphrey (aka Li’l J), who is the subject of a spinoff series for the Gossip Girl books.
