Returning (again): Jericho (again). Bumped: 4400

This is becoming a tad tiresome….

On again, off again US drama Jericho will return to TEN HD, as promised in mid July.

It is back on Thursday’s sci-fi night from 10:30pm July 17. “AKA” is one of twelve remaining episodes.

It will see The 4400 bumped to 11:30pm.

This means TEN held over Jericho to play a single Eureka finale at 9:30pm this week, then brings back The X Files next week.

A week later here is how it shakes down.

TEN HD July 17
8:30pm Smallville “Descent”
9:30pm The X Files “Deep Throat”
10:30pm Jericho “AKA”
11:30pm The 4400 “Ghost in the Machine”
11:45pm Movie: Blackjack V

It’s great that TEN HD has a scifi night at all, but those viewers aren’t ones to be messed around with erratic programming, or they will just continue downloading shows. Of course, what they really want is Battlestar Galactica and Torchwood anyway.

  1. I am thouroghly enjoying ten HD’s scifi evenings and am very glad they are showing it/ I have access to it. I can understand the frustrations of the fans especially for shows like bsg. I for one am waiting for it (and currently loving smallville) to be shown here and am not downloading it.

  2. If a shows has aired in the states (or UK), it doesn’t automatically mean we have it, it does cost money to get these shows off the states and air em here. Its like investing in a series of anything, you buy a couple, if people like em you buy the rest. If they don’t you don’t bother.
It isn’t the Networks Job to keep us up to date on American shows. As fans thats our responsibility.

  3. The thing with Eureka is that HD-sourced versions of most of season 1 and all of season 2 are impossible to come by via the usual sources, because despite being produced in HD, the show aired in the US in 4:3 low-def.

David, has Ten given any indication whether they plan to show season 2 of Eureka, which they should have in its entirety? I wish they’d “do a Smallville” and just seamlessly head straight into the next season.

  4. I aint a ‘nergular’ (GREAT word, Fangera!), but considering how DAMN GOOD Battlestar has been, there’s no way I could have waited for Channel 10 to show it. Seriously – have you seen the new season?! Channel 10 are too far behind. Credit to them for being refreshingly different with their programming, though!

  5. I am by no means a Sci-Fi fan but I do like Jerhico and X-FIles is an old fav.
The Channel is still in its early days and without ratings they still have a good deal of room to experiment and try things.
As far as downloading, if they are playing already aired in the states or UK episodes then most of the time a nerdgular (yes its a word!) would have already downloaded the episode hours or days after it originally aired.
I’m really looking forward to when the networks fully utilize these HD channels.

  6. yep dave, that’s what i expected the line up to end up as, there was really no reason to move jericho out in the first place, unless they want the regular eureka viewers to miss out on the finale. they love to keep us on our toes don’t they. an expression one person (darkinia) on their message board used always cracks me up, he suggested that they select their program line ups by “lobbing a turd at the wall”.
