TEN News Perth relaunches on Monday

The new-look, locally produced TEN News Perth will be unveiled on Monday at 5pm, coinciding with the station’s 20th anniversary.

In February, reporter Narelda Jacobs was announced as presenter along with Tim Gossage (sport) and Michael Schultz (weather).

TEN Perth General Manager, Simon Martin, said, “Narelda has honed her journalism skills, is a very popular staff member and TEN is delighted to give this local opportunity to one of our own.”

The shift to a fully local bulletin addresses a desire to return the news anchor from Sydney to Perth. TEN News Perth had always gathered local stories in its home city, but the bulletin had been presented in Sydney ever since the network went digital in 2000.

Last year newsreader Charmaine Dragun died tragically following depression and isolation from family and friends. Martin said Charmaine Dragun was well aware of TEN’s plans to return the bulletin to Perth.

The new look set at studios in Dianella will be revealed on Monday.
