US finales really deliver

There are some big, bold finales coming our way -two of the best screen this week.

House’s double episode finale on Wednesday night is a fantastic ending. The plot allows for lots of dazzling storytelling that will mess with your mind. As usual the performances are first rate -and listen out for Jesse Spencer’s nod to Melbourne!

Once again, Lost delivers a thumping season closer. This is also a two hour episode with some staggering plot twists -par for the course on this drama. If you’ve managed to stay the distance this year you will be handsomely rewarded. Alan Dale (pictured) makes another appearance, this time in London. Because he was appearing each night in a production of Spamalot, the Lost crew had to rework their scripts and shoot around his availability.

And wait til you see what Desperate Housewives has in store. There have already been internet rumours and leaks on what writer Marc Cherry had in mind for this finale. Suffice to say it’s a “jaw on the floor” moment. In the US, ABC screened both “The Gun Song” and “Free” back to back on the same night.

In Australia, Seven won’t air “Free” until Monday June 16. It’s not exactly fasttracking, but definitely worth watching.

House 8:30pm Wed on TEN.
Lost 9:30pm Thu on Seven.
Desperate Housewives 8:30pm Mon June 16 on Seven.

  1. When Alan Dale turns up in the programs I watch I actually change the channel and stop watching those shows from that point on… I can’t stand his invasion of America.. I’m running out of things to watch because his showing up everywhere!

  2. The LOST finale kicked ass. Not as much as the one from last year but it was definitely some superb television.

Desperate Housewives had the best season final this season I reckon. It balanced just the right amount of comedy and drama and the final twists at the end kicked ass. I’m really looking forward to the direction this show takes in the future.

As for House, I stopped watching that yonks ago. Nothing new ever happens, its just as formulaic and monotonous as all of CBS’ cop shows.

  3. Might I also add that the Greys Anatomy season finale was also quite exciting,(lots of pashing though in true Greys Anatomy style), although, it seemed more like a series finale rather than a season finale.

Desperate Housewives, oh you are right about jaw on the floor, watched the last five minutes, couldn’t help myself.

Don’t know about House, but the promos Channel Ten are running do seem really interesting.
