David, with Paul "Fatty" Vautin and The NRL Footy Show in the media all last week, was there an increase in ratings on Thursday night compared with the last few weeks.

Peter Sterling ended up hosting the program and they played a pre-recorded apology from Fatty.

Sat / Sun News are separated from Mon-Fri figures. When we say “channel X won the week in news” it refers to M-F.

In Sydney Seven News is beating Nine News consistently across M-F. Sundays are a lot more competitive and it would be wrong of me to call a winner.

So does Nine News regularly beat Seven News in Sydney or was Sunday an aberration? If Seven News is regularly trailing then that would have to make Seven reconsider the obscene amount they pay Ian Ross, who has got to be the least talented TV personality in the country.

According to OzTAM, Seven News won Melbourne (587,000 thanks to the AFL lead-in), Brisbane and Perth. Nine News won in Sydney and Adelaide.

Seven News won Brisbane, but Nine won Sydney. While PBL Media can only control the east coast, its national figure will always be dragged down by performances it can’t control in SA and WA.

1.878 million viewers for Seven News that's incredible!

Tell me David did Seven News win its slot in Sydney and Brisbane, the reason I ask is that the lead in to National Nine News is the highly popular Sunday afternoon NRL match in those markets.

I remember a few years ago that National Nine News Sunday was the number 1 of show on Sunday nights and on some occasions was the number 1 show of the week.

What do you think has caused this turn around?
