Always a chilling film, with or without the extra ten minutes that’s in this “version you’ve never seen”, The Exorcist screens this Sunday morning at 12:30am (Saturday night) on Nine.
Some viewed this edition with 12 extra minutes as little more than a marketing ploy. There are extra moments in four key scenes. The film has a different version of the famous “spider-walk” scene in which Regan eerily walks down stairs in an upside-down, crablike movement.
There is also a different ending to the film, which many felt destroyed the original version’s finale. More roundly praised was the remixing and remastering of the film’s original soundtrack, in Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround sound.
This is a long, moody film, but sure packs a punch. No doubt the Pope will be pleased to arrive after the film has screened on television.

I saw this awhile ago and it’s one creepy scary movie. Not sure which is scarier this or the Omen but I avoid both!
will this be complete and uncut, like some of the movies Nine has shown in the past?
My Ma saw this when she was a young lady and it terrified her so much she spent a week at my Nans.
To this day we are not allowed to mention this movie in her presence lol.
I saw the other extra scenes (not the ones you mention here) a while back and I tell ya what that spider walk scene is freakin scary/creepy as hell, would love to check this one out for sure, and the endings different? Is it more faithful to the book or more a theatrical ending?
Its defiantly a good watch.
