BB cuts Mike Goldman? I don’t think so.
“I have been told that this year my services will not be needed on the finale. Something I am quite upset about,” says Mike Goldman on his blog. At first glance this is an appalling state of affairs.
Mike Goldman has been with the show since it started, narrating the Daily Show, hosting Up Late, Friday Night Live, and saving BB’s butt when Kyle Sandilands took ill. Not to mention being the trusty warm up man for years. For many it is Gretel Killeen and Mike Goldman that defined Big Brother.
“Oh well. Ring the BB producers if you like. Its not something that’s up to me!??!” Goldman tells outraged fans. “There may be a little Mike appearance somewhere in the show!” In fact there will. A TEN spokesperson confirmed to TV Tonight that Mike Goldman, Ryan Fitzgerald and Bree Amer will all be involved in the finale, allaying any concerns he has been completely shunned from the big night.
Goldman’s comments could have been in the context of not being asked to host, given he did an excellent understudy job this year. Or perhaps his involvement is so reduced he is justifiably aggrieved. Time will tell if he gets fair camera time or not (if not, throw a rubber chicken at Kyle!). Finale shows are always competing with time (let’s not mention 2007) and surely the franchise closer will impact on this even more.
This year’s finale will also include all the winners from previous series -which is a good thing. I would hope there is also a video package of Gretel Killeen’s moments too.
TV Tonight looks forward to a grand send-off that includes due acknowledgment of Mike Goldman and everyone who was pivotal in this mother of a show.

They should have pissed of king vile and made Jackie O and mikey the hosts in the first place or even just mikey
Mikey should get as much air time as possible along with Gretel he was the lifeblood of BB
Yep I agree David it is good that they are having all the winners they should also have a package of Gretel and mike and give them a lot of credit after all they were BB
I also hope that they show a few montages of previous BB series
That’s an odd turn around from “your services will not be needed on the finale”. Something must be going on in production.
Seriously apart from hiring Kyle and Jackie, whoever thought “the revolver” was a good idea must have been out of touch. They actually had some interesting ideas this year but unfortunately were overshadowed by glaring failures.
Me thinks, even though Ten do not want the show next year, they are just trying to indeliby stamp the show as their own in the hope that no other network will then want to pick it up. - Damned if you do - Damned if you don’t.
mmm, I would have loved to have seen gretel actual come back for the finale but i dont think eithr vile or jackies ho’s egos will allow for her name to even be mentioned at the finale…shame, for 7 of the 8 seasons, BB was all about Gretel
Yep I would like to se Gretel make a guest appearance on the finale and what would be even better if she announced the winner but sadly that is not going to happen
I have a feeling a lot of BB fans will be doing a lot of whinging after this last show thing on on Monday.
