Bondi to the Rescue

When Big Brother ends its run on TEN on Monday July 21, it will bring back Bondi Rescue to the 7pm weeknight timeslot.

These will be repeats.

The show has been a big hit for TEN, which is also producing Bondi Rescue: Bali. It even picked up a Logie in May.

TEN had initially planned to put The Simpsons into the 7pm timeslot, but has decided to go with the surf series instead.

It returns on Tuesday July 22.

  1. I think its a good idea – hey if the repeats rate well enough, TEN could comission enough episodes to last 12 months and that would close the gap left by BB till the end of the year!

May sound like a long stretch but if TEN can get in around 1.1-1.3 million on a regular basis at 7pm – we’d see them winning more nights!

Surely it wouldn’t cost overly much – just more footage, they should start filming in October right through till April – that would be enough beach footage for 60 episodes! That’s 12 weeks worth of programming, and we already know its a ratings winner!

  2. Well, that’s a radical idea. Repeats of a cheap reality series that at least one other network has a variant of.

How about trying something really radical Ten and commissioning some original drama or comedy?

No matter what the quality of production it would undoubtedly rate better than Big Brother or a series about lifesavers.
