Ryan Murphy’s transsexual drama Pretty Handsome appears to be over before it has even started.
The Hollywood Reporter says it has been unable to find a home after being turned down by the FX Network. This is the same network that enjoyed much success with Murphy’s Nip / Tuck.
The pilot starring Joseph Fiennes as a family man who decides to get a sex change was leaked online last month -could this have been a tactical ploy to create fan buzz? According to the article, FX passed on the project in March.
Also featuring Blythe Danner, Robert Wagner and Australian Christopher Egan (who has since scored a lead in Kings), 20th Century Fox TV shopped the project to other outlets but was unsuccessful.
Murphy’s project has been in development for some time, previously titled as “4oz” -the weight of an average penis.

It’s a shame, I liked the pilot. Much more than any of the other pilots that have leaked.
U guys are right. 4 oz was Murphy’s original title. 3 lbs was the show starring Stanley Tucci. Always get them mixed up. Corrected.
