And here it is people. THAT ad for America’s Kath & Kim.
Widely promoted as “Australia’s #1 show” NBC is quick to liken this to the Americanised version of The Office. Apparently you can go home again….
Molly Shannon looks fun.
What do you think?

Yeah, doesn’t appeal to me. I never liked Kath & Kim in the first place, but this seems to be a bit too… shiny. Part of the attraction of Kath & Kim I thought, was that it was a little cheesy.
Can’t wait, looks great.
Er.. yeah.. that’s right up there with the US Red Dwarf pilots. Yeech.
I lol’d at the cake in the face, but the rest kinda felt like a bad parody.
Hah! Looks promising!
From that little promo it seemed to have a bit more energy than the Aus one! Cant wait to see it, looks like John Micheal Higgins has the Kel character down great lol
And don’t listen to the negative nancys, if its not enough like ours they will complain, if its too much like ours they will complain…
Looks good as an American show, but hell, that aint Kath & Kim.
Interesting. I felt the The USA Office got off to a bad start (here in Aus) because it was a basically the exact same script as the UK version. By Episode #2 it had started to diverge and by #3 it was off on it’s own feet.
This looks like a similar thing. And don’t forget we locals here are probably NOT the target market.
that promo made me laugh more than the entire run of the local series
The Brett character which I think is Craig or something in the U.S. shows looks younger and a little bit dumber than the Brett one here.
Looks quite good, but the house may be a little too nice for the family.
shouldnt Kim be fatter than that?
the US version of Brett is much better looking and seems much more assertive than ours.
Oh no. Looks crap. Sorry.
I like it, looks kinda fun but it’s only a promo.
Strange to see it so glossy and with “prettier” people. I wonder how they will translate/replace any local style jokes?
I hope it does well, I miss K&K off our screens!
Looks very good,What are the chances of us seeing it on free to air in Oz.
Me likey. 🙂
