‘Alan Everywhere’ joins Moving Wallpaper

One former Neighbours star replaces another former Neighbours star in a soap parody? My head already hurts.

Alan Dale is joining ITV1’s Moving Wallpaper, sort of replacing Jason Donovan who featured in the axed companion show, Echo Beach.

Dale, who has appeared on everything including Lost, 24, Ugly Betty, The OC, and Sea Patrol, joins along with Kelly Brook a judge on the UK’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The new series of Moving Wallpaper will continue where the previous one left off. Echo Beach has been axed, but a clause in the contract of executive producer Jonathan Pope (Ben Miller) requires the network to offer him a pilot to produce.

The pilot, for a “ridiculous” thriller spoof, sees Brook and Dale star as passengers on board an aeroplane attacked by zombies. Titled Renaissance, it will air as a one-off special either on ITV1 or online. No airdate has yet been confirmed.

Dale, who has been performing in the UK stage production of Spamalot, also has a guest role in the second season of Torchwood. With all these gigs, wouldn’t you just love to be his agent?
