Auditions: Farmer Wants a Wife

The series that Nine originally knocked back, Farmer Wants a Wife is now looking for men for its third season.

The dating show attracted good word of mouth and an impressive 1.7m viewers for its finale, enough to play matchmaker for a third time.

Nine is searching for “for real farmers aged between 25 and 45 who are looking to meet their one true love. Bachelors must be working farmers, be it grazier, dairy, citrus, oyster, etc.”

Producers FremantleMedia are also producing TEN’s weeknight dating show Taken Out, but found city blokes are a bit shyer than country counterparts.

Press Release:
Following the overwhelming viewer response to the recent series of The Farmer Wants A Wife, the Nine Network and FremantleMedia Australia are now casting farmers for the much-anticipated third series.

Life is tough for men on the land – they face not only the drought, but terrible isolation. It’s almost impossible for farmers to meet the woman of their dreams.

The Farmer Wants A Wife is offering some of Australia’s most eligible farmers a solution to their ‘love’ problem and the chance to be a part of the third series. This might be their opportunity to meet their soul mate and find true love.

The Farmer Wants A Wife will see a dozen farmers profiled on a website and through a series of events – web-chat, speed-dating, bush dance, country stays and city escapes – they will be reduced to six couples.

The ultimate goal is finding true love just as our series one favourites Chris and Kim did, who tied the knot earlier this year in a romantic ceremony in Tamworth. Ben and Sarah, our lovebirds from series two, have hinted there may be wedding bells in the not too distant future, but wait there’s more … Rob and Jo also felt the ping of cupid’s arrow and we suspect there is more exciting news ahead from Mt Gambier, proving that the farmer really can find a wife.

The Farmer Wants A Wife is a feel-good story of love and romance. This is not a competition. There’s no prize money and the only winner in the end… is LOVE. We simply follow the story of Australian farmers meeting new women, exploring new relationships and trying to find their soul mate.

We are searching nationally for real farmers aged between 25 and 45 who are looking to meet their one true love. Bachelors must be working farmers, be it grazier, dairy, citrus, oyster, etc.
