Gladiators out of the arena?

Questions are being asked over the future of Gladiators after the Seven Network released all the show’s stars from their holding contracts on Friday.

Performers including Tatiana Grigorieva, Tiffiny Hall and Anthony Koutoufides have been on holding contracts with Seven since the show finished filming in February, preventing them from signing with other networks.

A Seven spokeswoman confirmed the Gladiators had been released from their contracts, but said the show was still “on the drawing board for the first half of next year”.

“We are still to make a decision on the next series of Gladiators,” she told the Sunday Herald Sun.

Gladiators launched with an impressive 1.84m viewers, hailed by the network as one of 2008′s hit shows. Later in the season it was languishing around 1.1m and beaten by Domestic Blitz.
