1000th Deal for AOK

By David Knox on September 8, 2008 / Filed Under Programming 5

It’s a case of “booyay” for Andrew O’Keefe today as the 1000th episode goes to air on Seven.

Since launching the show in 2003, O’Keefe has fronted 500 hours of the show, with 26,000 cases and over $20m in cash given away. The show is such a ratings winner, that Nine can’t seem to land a punch. Family Feud and Million Dollar Wheel of Fortune all ended their run. Now Nine is said to be developing an “entertainment chat show.” Maybe they oughta ask Daryl if he wants to revive Blankety Blanks?

Seven recently threw a bash for O’Keefe and the Deal crew which included congratulatory wishes on video from hosts around the world including Howie Mandel from the USA, Tantowi Yahya from Indonesia and Noel Edmonds from the UK. Dutch creator Dick Derijk was particularly complimentary to O’Keefe for his skill in sustaining the show and keeping it at the top of its game.

Was tonight’s (8/9) episode really the 1000th? I watched the majority of the episode and was no different than any other episode of DOND.

good on him, its says a lot about his hosting ability when he can keep such a simplistic game show format, which in reality should have run out of steam by now, creaming the opposition for this long…

I saw a video on the internet a while back, where the George Bush congratulated and thanked a former soldier via video link on their deal or no deal.
