TV Tonight hears Glenn Robbins’ panel show is going back before the cameras, which is what the network always told us would happen.
Out of the Question will be back in the studio next week at Seven Melbourne.
The panel / quiz show had a difficult start, never really finding a rhythm, and the viewing audience was pretty decisive in its collective disappointment. It was taken off air after a short, initial run.
One of the biggest problems for the show was the 8:30pm timeslot. Like The Panel, on which Robbins also appeared, the show sought a relaxed, intimate feel, and it would benefit from a later slot next time around… 10:30pm anyone?
Robbins is a popular talent. If the network can fine tune the show, it’s surely worth having another go, somewhere where it isn’t competing against big guns and has time to gently develop.

Glenn Robbins as host , just did not work.
Looked like fish out of water.
And the choice of panelists made the show stink.
Absolutely no chemistry between host and panel.
Out of the Question made Tench look like Logie material.
i only watched it cause it was b4 family guy
This show is terrible. It will flop again within a few airings
i liked it, too, but I agree about the ad breaks and feeling rushed. it wasn’t hilarious but it had potential. It kinda seemed like they weren’t sure what was going on half the time. I’ll give it a watch and see how they’ve changed it but this has to be their last shot, doesn’t it?
Why not just bring back the Panel? surely all those guys/girls could benefit 😛
I liked it, but it was interrupted by too many ad breaks, spoiling the flow of it. And the format was supposed to be free flowing and relaxed, but that was hard to do with only about 20 minutes of total airtime, so it always felt stiff and rushed. Just when each episode found its feet it was over.
I think a later start and 45 minutes (with fewer breaks) would benefit it. Maybe have it lead into Andrew O’Keefe’s new show with the stupid name.
Why would they bother? I guess it could work at 10.30 though.
I found.. the show was only good when Ed Kavalee was on it..
One ep I remember it was an all male panel.. god it was boring.
This show was dreadful the first time, why is Channel 7 inflicting it on us a second time? I used to like Glenn Robbins, but he was completely boorish on this.
Remember this is the station that thought Ugly Betty would work in the 9.30 time slot after it had already flopped at 7.30.
I think that Out of the Question received poor ratings when it aired last time. What makes Seven think that things would be any different?
Average show and Glenn is not suited to being the main host. Will tank like it did before.
they can’t make me watch it no matter how hard they try to stuff it down my throat! why don’t they bring back the nightcap, i actually enjoyed that, it was good to have something like that to watch when i got home from work. plus they have no proof that no one watched it coz there are no ratings for HD, there may have been more fans than they realised. channel 10 knows how to sell ad space for a HD only show with no ratings being measured, why can’t 7 figure it out so they can stop claiming they can’t make any money off the show.
Really!!! It wasn’t a great concept which was poorly executed. Maybe a sleeper timeslot like 10:30 Wednesday night would allow the show to get a following that could build over time like Merrik and Rosso Unplanned did on Nine a few years ago. But given the cost of the production and the fact that the networks want instant success, I doubt that is going to happen
