Former Melrose Place actress Heather Locklear became a Special Guest Star of the California Highway Patrol after she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on the weekend.

Locklear, 47, was pulled over by a California Highway Patrol in Santa Barbara area on Saturday afternoon after a resident reported seeing the actress leaving a parking lot and “driving erratically.”

The officer noticed Locklear’s car parked on a state highway and blocking a laneway. She was believed to be alone in the car.

“In talking with her, (the officer) determines that she seems to be under the influence of something,” patrol spokesman Tom Marshall said.

Locklear, who played a cop in T. J. Hooker, was taken to the police station, where she was tested for alcohol and drugs. She was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication and later released from custody.

Locklear checked into a medical clinic in June to seek treatment for anxiety and depression.

    I can understand the barely out of their teens types like Lindsay Lohan getting in this kind of trouble, but by the age of 47 you think they would calm down a little.
