ABC News Breakfast trims to 3 hours

The ABC has amended plans for its forthcoming ABC News Breakfast programming, originally planned as a 4 hour live to air broadcast, to now screen for 3 hours each day.

The new live-to-air format, premiering at 6am next Monday will now conclude at 9am on ABC2.

Hosted by Virginia Trioli and Barrie Cassidy, the show draws upon the ABC’s news resources and radio interviews with politicians and personalities. It will also stream live online.

The programme has a youthful production cast, most of whom are believed to be in test-runs at the actual time the show will air, in order to be ready for the early starts next week.
