You know, I am all for tv shows about superheroes. really. but if “DJ” didn’t become “robin” until batman taught him all he knows then what is there to see pre-batman? unless this “original take” means that he has super powers now…?

Yeah…but Dick Grayson was only a teenager when he became Robin, so that wouldn’t leave much lead up time. Come to think of it, Tom Welling has to be nearly 30 by now. What are they waiting for, for him to become Superman?

It’s interesting how they keep updating the Superheroes for different eras, yet some of their names have become quite dated. Eg Clark and Lois are so 1930s & 40s names and Lana is so 1950s. And then there’s Dick…, no one calls themselves Dick anymore, hence the update to DJ I suppose.

Love Smallville … have loved it for 8 years!
They should be doing a “League Of Justice” spin-off featuring the Green Arrow (SOOOOO hot) and Aquaman etc. with appearances from Clark … not a Robin spin-off!

I don’t want Smallville to end. Losing Michael Rosenbaum was a blow but I still want it to go longer.

When Smallville started, I wasn’t researching the new shows coming out so when I saw the ad on 9 for it, I thought it looked good and watched it. If Smallville didn’t exist yet and was announced just now, I would’ve thought it was a bad idea.

So I’m very open-minded to this. I just hope it can screen alongside Smallville.

I doubt they wil make this one in the same vein as The Greatest American Hero.
It will be probably like a 90210 meets Batman/Spiderman meets Smallville.
And no doubt they will get some underwear model to play Robin.

I can tell you now this isn’t going to work. Robin has no special powers no interesting qualities and can not even afford any cool gadjets. This is doomed from the start. Why bother with such a boring character? It sounds like they want another teeny show and are just using this character as a hook. What the heck can Robin do to a foe? jump over him?

God get original and invent some new superhero.Robin! oh my goodness it’s getting bad out there in hollywood land.
